Semasa hidup Bung Karno tidak senang didewa-dewakan. Itulah sebabnya mengapa Bung Karno berwasiat, agar kelak bila meninggal dunia di atas batu nisan ditulis kata-kata sederhana: Di sini Beristirahat Bung Karno Penyambung Lidah Rakyat Indonesia.
